In later years his prowess earned him the position of Chief Naval Test Pilot at Farnborough. He became the first naval officer to command the world famous Aerodynamics Flight, and descrives the highly dangerous days when attempts to break the sound barrier cost many lives. In his fully illustrated autobiography he makes an important contribution to the history of the Fleet Air Arm and of test flying in Britain.
