Welcome to Secondhand Pages. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website and the purchase of products from our online store. By accessing or using our website, you agree to these Terms.

1. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

Under the ACL, you are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

2. Nature of Products (Secondhand Goods)

Secondhand Pages specialises in pre-loved books and book-related items.

By purchasing from us, you acknowledge that:

  • Items are used and may show signs of wear

  • Condition will vary between items

  • Minor defects such as creases, yellowing pages, inscriptions, or annotations may be present

We make every reasonable effort to:

  • Accurately describe item condition

  • Provide clear condition categories (e.g. Like New, Very Good, Good, Acceptable)

  • Include photos where possible

3. Product Descriptions and Condition

We aim to ensure all descriptions are accurate. However:

  • Descriptions are subjective to a reasonable standard

  • Images form part of the description

A return will be considered if an item is significantly different from its description, not simply because of minor expected wear.

4. Pricing and Payment

  • All prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD)

  • Prices may change at any time without notice

  • Payment must be made in full at checkout

We reserve the right to correct pricing errors and cancel orders where necessary, with a full refund provided.

5. Orders

  • Orders cannot always be changed or cancelled once placed

  • We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order

  • If an item becomes unavailable, you will receive a full refund

6. Shipping and Delivery

  • We ship within Australia (and internationally if offered)

  • Shipping costs are calculated at checkout

  • Delivery timeframes are estimates only

Delivery times are estimates only and may be affected by factors outside our control. Secondhand Pages is not responsible for delays caused by postal or courier services.

Risk in the goods passes to you upon delivery, to the extent permitted by law. If your order is lost or damaged in transit, please contact us and we will work with you to resolve the issue in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.

7. Returns and Refunds Policy

Change of Mind

Due to the nature of secondhand goods, we do not accept returns for change of mind.

Faulty or Incorrect Items

We will provide a remedy (refund, replacement, or store credit) if:

  • The item has a major fault, or

  • The item is significantly not as described

Return Conditions

  • You must contact us within 14 days of delivery

  • Items must be returned in the same condition they were received

  • Proof of purchase is required

We may request photos before approving a return.

Return Shipping

  • If the return is due to our error, we will cover return shipping

  • Otherwise, you may be responsible for return postage costs

8. Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including branding, text, images, and logos, is the property of Secondhand Pages and must not be reproduced without permission.

9. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the website for unlawful purposes

  • Attempt to interfere with website functionality

  • Provide false or misleading information

10. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Secondhand Pages is not liable for:

  • Indirect or consequential losses

  • Delays outside our control
