Book Sizing Guide

Not sure what size a book is? Our sizing guide gives you a general idea of the different paperback formats you may come across in our store.

Please note that book sizes can vary slightly between publishers, editions and countries, so the measurements below are approximate.

📖 Pocket-Sized Paperback

Approx. 10.5–11 cm × 17–18 cm

Small, lightweight and easy to carry. Pocket-sized paperbacks are designed for portability and are often a great fit for a handbag, small bag or travel.

📚 Standard Paperback

Approx. 11–13 cm × 18–20 cm

The familiar paperback size used for many novels and general fiction. These are smaller than trade paperbacks but larger than pocket-sized editions.

📕 Trade Paperback

Approx. 13–15.5 cm × 20–23.5 cm

A larger paperback format with a bigger page size and usually a more spacious reading layout. Trade paperbacks are common across fiction, nonfiction and contemporary novels.

A little extra information

Book dimensions can differ even within the same format. Older editions, special editions, Australian and international editions, and different publishers may all use slightly different measurements.
