The Rainforest by Peter Macinnis and Jane Bowring

Swiftly and silently the tree snake glides towards the fallen log.
It is searching for something to eat -
a careless bird, a wandering frog . . .
or a small stray lizard looking for some afternoon sunlight.

As the tree snake searches for food it takes us on a journey deep inside an Australian rainforest. We meet the fascinating creatures that inhabit all levels of the rainforest, from the dark forest floor to the thick, spreading canopy.

Kim Gamble's breathtakingly beautiful illustrations bring the story of the tree snake and its environment to life, and capture the lushness, the greenness, and the growth and renewal that is the rainforest.
