KATHERINE MANSFIELD CENTENARY EDITIONS
Introduced by C. A. Hankin
The Doves' Nest was first published after Katherine Mansfield's death in 1923. It includes two of her greatest stories, 'The Doll's House' and 'The Fly', and a number of less-known stories, written in the last years of her life, in which her subtle grasp of human relationships is complemented by an examination of the darker currents of human emotion.
These Centenary Editions of all five of Katherine Mansfield's short story collections are published to mark the centennial of her birth in October 1988. The introduction to each volume in the series by Dr C. A. Hankin, Reader in English at the University of Canterbury, provides new insights into the background of the stories. Previous publications by C. A. Hankin include Katherine Mansfield and her Confessional Stories and The Letters of John Middleton Murry to Katherine Mansfield.
